Motion to be released in North America on January 17th, 2012

AFM Records, international record label of ALMAh, now confirms that Motion, the band’s third full-length, will be available to North American fans on January 17th, 2012.

The album was recorded in São Paulo, Brazil at Norcal Studios in May-June 2011. It was mixed and mastered at Split Second Sound Studios (Amsterdam, Netherlands) by Jochem Jacobs (Textures) in July. On September 16th Motion was launched in Brazil and it was confirmed as the best-selling metal album according to November’s issue of Roadie Crew magazine. On October 14th the CD saw the light of day in Europe via AFM Records and on October 18th in Japan and Latin America by Victor JVC and Icarus Records respectively.

In the middle of September Edu Falaschi, Felipe Andreoli and Marcelo Barbosa visited Japan, France and Germany with a short promo trip dedicated to the European and Japanese releases. The musicians made various interviews for international metal /rock magazines and webzines and participated in radio and TV shows. Also, ALMAh played an acoustic pocket show in Tokyo. MOTION has already got many positive reviews in such media as Burrn! magazine (Japan), Roadie Crew (Brazil), Whiplash! (Brazil), PowerMetal.de (Germany), PowerMetal.it (Italy), Rock Realms (UK), Lords Of Metal (Holland), Metal Zone (Greece), Metal Cry (Spain) and many others.

So far the band released two music videos to the following songs from the new CD : Trace Of Trait (10.000 views in the first day) and Late Night in ’85.

At the moment, the band is finishing the first leg of Motion tour in Brazil. The band already played shows in such important Brazilian cities as São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Curitiba among others, including a few shows together with an icon of Brazilian metal, Sepultura. The last shows for this year are scheduled for 17-18th of December in Piracibaba and Itu (SP)and then, after a short break, ALMAh will be back in the spring of 2012. "I have a serious hereditary problem since childhood, which is dilated cardiomyopathy (enlarged heart) and I'm not 100% sure that I could give all myself in Almah's shows and therefore I can't come to the events of the band scheduled to the end of year because I'm in intensive care and need more time to recover, it's a diseases that has its ups and downs, it's the normal way, and are things that I'm used to live because I was born with this problem.

But even still I don't feel with all my potential, I'll continue working on the release of Motion, and recordings for future clips of the band.

I believe that in all these problems, always appear the positive side, as we become more united today, and the spirit of unity in the band is increasingly present and strong, because with all these difficulties, I can say that Almah became a large family to us, because for sure, and I'm speaking with an open heart, I feel I'm playing with my friends, above all, money and recognition are well below of that.

I'm sure that my band's mates will do a competent job and soon we will be together again in 2012 to play and show what Almah really worth.

I appreciate the support of all people, my band's mates, and especially the fans, without them none of this could be achieved.

Dear friends,

At last I would like to clarify some facts about my voice with all the sincerity, humility and integrity that I may have.

For over 20 years I have worked without a day off in the Heavy Metal style, and we all know how difficult and technically demanding it is. Joining Angra I had to fit a particularly high way of singing, which was totally out of my range, and of the vast majority of the singers! At the time I took the responsibility and faced all the pressure. But 10 years ago it was much easier due to the physical factor, excitement and age. I started to feel, year after year, gradually, the difficulties of singing something so high and out of my natural trait. I fought to the end! I did everything possible to continue to sing the songs, particularly the old ones, always in high pitches, because the melodic metal audience has ever “demanded” this of us singers. But unfortunately, today, older and more experienced, I assume that I am no longer able to sing so high. I am extremely tired and feeling the weight of all that in my voice, including the region that has always been the most comfortable for me! I’m a baritone singer who dominates the mediums and lows, with drive, singing with a more aggressive chest voice, as I did in Symbols and do in Almah. I have conquered many things and built much of my story with my own style.

Therefore, I made a decision, thinking only and exclusively about the health of my voice and integrity of my career, which I have built with so much struggle and dedication. After fulfilling all the promotional activities of Motion, scheduled until the end of the year, I will stop indefinitely to finally rest and be able to deal properly with my health. But I have to point out that from today on I’ll just sing whatever is in my natural range, be it in Angra or any other band, for my own good! I want to be who I really am, instead of being what people want me to be! In the meantime, I’ll continue with my activities as a producer and composer, which are things I love doing, and will not harm at all the progress of my recovery.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the fans who always supported me and defend me unconditionally! I will always do my best writing and singing good music for you guys, with all my truth and emotion! This is the first step to a new time in my life! I have confidence in the future and will always be passionate about the greatest music ever, HEAVY METAL!

Brazilian-based metallers Almah proudly present a new song from the upcoming album Motion which will be released on October 14th via AFM Records. For the online debut of the new CD Almah created a video clip for the song “Trace of Trait” with its own story and professional production. The footage was done in Caxias do Sul, a city in the South of Brazil at the end of August under direction of producer and photographer Alex Milesi. The video is available on the official channel of the band in Youtube :

"We had an idea to prepare something special for our fans, that’s why we decided to release not simply some audio single but a full-fledged Video Clip! – commented Almah’s frontman Edu Falaschi: - We have chosen “Trace of Trait” for the first presentation of Motion because this song is very strong in many ways… and I’m totally sure that it represents well the language and identity of Almah! Almah : vocals recordings (English translation of the most interesting parts)

Dear friends, we are happy to present a new part of Almah Studio Reports in Youtube. The new video gives an opportunity to watch Edu Falaschi recording the vocals for the upcoming album Motion. The singer presents parts of several new songs and tells about his work. The video is in Portuguese, but you can read English translation of the most interesting parts below. Enjoy!

English translation :

In the beginning of the video Edu Falaschi tells about recording of the vocals and back vocal parts at Norcal Studios in São Paulo as the final step of the new CD recordings before the mixing and mastering in Europe, and mentions that the album will be really great. Then, in the second and third parts Almah’s frontman presents special guests who help to make back vocals for this very important album in the history of Almah. There are two famous Brazilian musicians from renowned national metal acts and real friends of the band: Tiago Bianchi (Shaman) and Victor Cutrale (Furia Inc.).

The next part shows how Edu comes to Norcal late at night by car listening to the music: “to get some inspiration for the recording!!!” Entering the studio, the vocalist expains that this time he starts recording later than usual, but it’s even better. “In the morning it’s bad to sing, it’s getting better in the afternoon but I prefer to record at night, it’s the best time!”

Doing some warm-up, Edu comments that the voice is a part of the whole body and it’s necessary to take care about it. Staying in the kitchen and the “chill-out” room of the studio the musician marks that it’s almost empty in comparison with the recordings of other instruments such as drums, guitars, bass when many people are hanging around. Having finished their work, all the band’s crew are away and during the vocal sessions Edu stays alone, just with Brendan (Duffey, sound engeneer) or Adriano (Daga, anther engeneer) and it can seem a bit sad sometimes…

Meanwhile, Edu remembers how he recorded the vocals for Angra’s album Temple Of Shadows in Germany. And it was funny, because Edu stayed almost alone there in a house in the countryside and even saw a cow several times (the singer shows that it sounded as a cow, not as a bull :))…

At the end of the report Edu reveals some details of his singing for the 3rd Almah’s album and mentioned such techniques as screaming, roaring, his tipical vibrato “Falaschiano” and using of many things from Symbols time. Also, the musician notices that always when he works at his CDs the lyrics are ready very close to the moment when the recording starts that’s why it never works to practice beforehand and all is very honest.

The trip of the artists will begin in Japan, and then will passing through France and Germany, where they will be featured in several broadcastings on TV and radios, magazines, webzines, in add to some acoustic performences closed to selected fans and media specialists.
Victor JVC and AFM Records, labels responsible for launching Motion in Japanese and European markets, are in charge of this whole promotrip organization, which will end on September 19.

Brazilian musicians from the band Almah, Edu Falaschi (vocals), Felipe Andreoli (bass) and Marcelo Barbosa (guitar), will leave on September 10 for a promotional tour in Japan and Europe in support of their latest work, the album "Motion".

The trip of the artists will begin in Japan, and then will passing through France and Germany, where they will be featured in several broadcastings on TV and radios, magazines, webzines, in add to some acoustic performences closed to selected fans and media specialists.

Victor JVC and AFM Records, labels responsible for launching Motion in Japanese and European markets, are in charge of this whole promotrip organization, which will end on September 19.

Almah announces release dates of the new album

Brazilian-based metallers Almah have announced that their new album Motion will be released on October 14th via AFM Records. The band worked on the new CD in São Paulo, Brazil at Norcal Studios in May-June 2011. The material was mixed and mastered at Split Second Sound Studios (Amsterdam, Netherlands) by Jochem Jacobs (Textures) in July. A brand new digital single will be available for online streaming in the beginning of September.

The release dates of Motion in other countries are the following :

- September 16th (Brazil / Laser Company),
- October 14th (Latin America / Icarus Records),
- October 19th (Japan / Victor JVC).

Almah has recently finished the recording, mixing and mastering of its brand new album Motion that will see the light of day via AFM records this fall (the scheduled release date is to be announced very soon). At the end of July the musicians returned to live activities: Almah played its first shows since Fragile Equality tour (finished in June 2010) – the band successfully performed at Forcaos and Armazed do Som festivals at the Northeast of Brazil at the end of July. Now the band is preparing for the upcoming Motion release and tour. Meanwhile, guitarist Marcelo Barbosa comments on Almah, new album and the recent shows:

"Actually, I play in a few bands, and every one is special in its own way. Besides the fact that ALMAH is the most famous one among them and it has an opportunity to travel more playing live, the band is about to release a new album! It’s always a challenge and as usual it’s a very special feeling of this cold in the stomach when you have no idea what comes next. I’m very happy that the band is back on stage and I’m looking forward to the moment when everyone will hear the work that we’ve recorded. All of us are really excited with the final result.

At the end of July we played the first live shows after a big break. We spent more than a year without playing live on stage but even the first rehearsal showed good sound and great team work. It’s interesting, especially taking into account all the conditions.... Moreover, some song parts sounded even more natural and it was easier to play them. Of course, we have very good musicians in the band, but the songs, especially from Fragile Equality album, have very high technical level. And I believe, no one expected that it would be so easy to come back to live activities! I’m convinced that with more time and more rehersals for the upcoming Motion Tour ALMAH will sound so great on stage as never before!

I was really excited with the recent shows in the city of Fortaleza, I know this public very good because I’ve already played there 6 times (also with my other band – Khallice). But not only the feelling of this great audience or of coming back with Almah made this trip so special… We received the master of our new album Motion exactly when we were staying there, and we've listened to the ready master with the new material for the first time while on the road. We made our new photo session during the tour as well, because the band members live in different cities and we took the most from this opportunity of staying all together.

Actually, everything in this tour went on very well. Almah is a funny band with a good sense of humour. To stay close to these guys always means that a lot of fun is guaranteed! Especially with Paulo and Moreira which have a natural way to be funny. It’s impossible to spend even one day without laughing a lot. And of course, I couldn’t miss the opporutinity to go to the beach with some friends ‘cos my home city is in 1000km from the nearest seashore...

Well, I hope to visit as many places as possible with the future Motion Tour to present our new work live and to have fun playing this stuff! I’m totally sure that this CD will kick ass and let’s see what happens next!"

According to Edu Falaschi : “The cover has been created by myself with my own iPhone. I took a picture in Paris and used some applications to create that motion effect. Then Felipe used my picture and re-created this artwork in high resolution using Photoshop and completed it with new elements. This time we wanted something modern and direct to represent our music and we are totally sure that we got the result we really wanted since the very beginning. This CD will show the real Almah's language and personality! [...] I Have A Feeling That In The End It Will Be The Best Album In My Whole Discography".

Almah : Felipe Andreoli comments on the first live shows in 2011

Last week Almah played a short “warm-up” tour around the Northeast of Brazil including two headlining shows at the famous 13th ForCaos (Fortaleza) and Armazem do Som (Juazeiro do Norte) festivals, and series of supporting events such as singing sessions, a pocket show and workshops. Almah came back to live activities after a one-year break and the band was highly acclaimed by the public at all the events. The musicians are looking forward to the upcoming release and tour of Motion. Meanwhile, Almah’s bass player Felipe Andreoli revealed a few details about the recent gigs, see his story below.

Felipe Andreoli (bass): “It was very pleasant to hit the stage with Almah again after one year. Not only because I love the music, but also because we always have a good time together, as friends. It's a very special and privileged relationship. We had a couple of rehearsals just to take the rust off our hands - and throats, for that matter, but it was surprisingly easy to put everything together as far as performance and sound. It honestly didn't seem like we hadn't played together one year ago. It felt more like a little while. What's funny is that we seem to play better together every time, even when we don't play for months!”

About the best things and the main challenges of this tour Felipe answers the following:
“The audience of the Northeast in Brazil is something special and unique. The energy we get from them keeps us motivated and fired up, even with all the traveling and the little sleep. When we get on stage there something special always happens.
I think the most challenging factor of being on tour is to be distant from your family. Of course we get tired, maybe even frustrated sometimes when things don't go the way we planned, but the absence of the people you love is really the worst thing for me”.

But not only shows and rehearsals happened during this tour: “Moreira and I had a chance to go to the Beach Park in Fortaleza, which is a water park with lots of coasters and funny pipes that you get into, some are really scary! My friend Fabricio took us there in a sunny day, it was awesome. We even faced the biggest challenge of all, called "Insano", which is a 41 meters high vertical dive! Total adrenaline!”

Almah already started to prepare the new Motion World Tour: “I'd love to go everywhere, of course! But most of all, I'm really excited to play the new songs live, I believe they will work brilliantly! We're really proud of Motion”.

The new CD “Motion” will see the light of day via AFM Records this fall. The release date will be announced soon. The album is produced by Edu Falaschi and Felipe Andreoli.

Taipei Metal : What was your inspiration behind starting Almah and what did you hope to achieve with this project at the outset?

Edu Falaschi : The first album was a solo CD! I wanted to make something modern, direct and fresh! Angra started having many internal problems [at] that time and I needed to make real music again!

Taipei Metal : Almah began as your solo project, but has since become a full band, with other members contributing to the songwriting process. What was it like for you to go from having total control over something that was entirely your own creation, to sharing the songwriting duties with others?

Edu Falaschi : So, after the first album many fans were asking me for a second album. They said that Almah was an honest CD, with real love for music! Then I decided to turn Almah in a real band! Because I believe a band is much stronger than a project! And I like working in group!

Taipei Metal : Your most recent album, Fragile Equality, scored very highly with critics. Coming from a band such as Angra that has earned high levels of commercial success already, how much pressure did you feel when you embarked on a project of your own to live up to the achievements of your past?

Edu Falaschi : Thats was nice to see the potential of Almah! You know what, I never felt pressured, because Almah has influences from Angra, its natural, but its still different, and with this new (third) album Almah will define his own style, language and personality! You will see! Thats totally far away from Angra! Now its 100% Almah! Heavy, modern and sentimental!

Taipei Metal : Everything about Almah, from the name itself, to the lyrical subject matter, seems to be about balance in the world. What draws you towards this theme, and why is it worth exploring?

Edu Falaschi : Because only finding this equilibrium the world will really evolve! Balance is everything. If you eat too much you get fat. If your cells start multiplying too much you get cancer. So everything in life needs balance! But the lyrics from the new album are not about it! It's not a conceptual album anymore! It's free! We are tired of it! This album is to have fun! To be happy! To scream! To jump!

Taipei Metal : You've now been a singer and composer for over 20 years. What do you think is the defining moment of your career thus far?

Edu Falaschi : I'm getting old! Ha ha ha! But I'm much more mature and adult! I have many things to learn yet! But I feel well nowadays! As a singer, composer and person!

Taipei Metal : In May of 2011 Almah was recording songs for the follow-up to your second record, Fragile Equality. What can you reveal about this upcoming record in terms of the style and subject matter?

Edu Falaschi : It's getting fantastic! Its heavy, modern and up! its powerful! Full of good energy! An album to shake your head without stopping!

Taipei Metal : You are working with the same lineup which recorded Fragile Equality. How do you think the band has progressed in the three years since Fragile Equality was released?

Edu Falaschi : Now we are more friends and we know each other much more! This time the compositions and recordings are much more calm, relaxing and fun! Without any stress! It already became the most pleasant album I did in my life! And I have a feeling that in the end it will be the best album in my whole discography! At least the one I like the most!

Taipei Metal : What is the creative dynamic like between all the members of Almah?

Edu Falaschi : Felipe [Andreoli-bass] brought one song, Marcelo [Barbosa-guitar] brought one as well. I helped them with vocal melodies, etc., and I composed eight from ten songs in the CD! Then I asked the guys to help me with the solo parts! First I recorded on my own, all songs in my home studio. I did programming drums, I played guitars, bass, vocal lines and keys, and sent it to the guys for learning ,practicing and creating solo parts! Then after some days we went to the studio! It all was really fast! The band is totally in shape and in the same frequency!

Taipei Metal : You are also the singer of Angra, which is a full-time job in itself. How will you balance being in two bands, now that Almah is looking more and more like another full-time project?

Edu Falaschi : Angra is in the end of the Aqua tour, so its easier. I always loved Angra, I gave all my blood and put many efforts on it, as you can't imagine, but I feel Angra now like an old band, a bit surpassed, with old guys with family, sons, other activities and almost other priorities! Many, many internal, personal and administration problems! It comes from a long time! Sometimes it gets better and sometimes worse! But its a great band with many talented musicians! Almah started as my playground! And more and more it becomes bigger and with many new fans around the globe! I believe with this new CD Almah will consolidate his place in the rock scene!

Taipei Metal : It is inevitable that people will draw comparisons between Almah and Angra. What is your reaction to this?

Edu Falaschi : It was natural in the beginning! But with this third album, it will definitely finish! People will see Almah is Almah and Angra is Angra! Be prepared!

Taipei Metal : From a creative standpoint, what differences do you see between working with your two bands, Almah and Agra?

Edu Falaschi : Angra is typical and traditional symphonic power metal band and Almah is a fresh and modern thrash power metal.

Taipei Metal : What are your plans as far as touring with Almah after your third album is released?

Edu Falaschi : We're gonna do lots of concerts in Brazil in September and October. And we are try to organize an Euro tour and who knows an Asian tour in November and December! We are working for it! Maybe the fans from Taiwan can help it to come true asking for Almah for the local promoters! I would love it!

Almah : title and cover artwork of the forthcoming album revealed

Almah has confirmed the title of its upcoming third album, the follow-up to the previous success “Fragile Equality”, as “MOTION”. The cover artwork is available above.

According to Edu Falaschi: “The cover has been created by myself with my own iPhone. I took a picture in Paris and used some applications to create that motion effect. Then Felipe used my picture and re-created this artwork in high resolution using Photoshop and completed it with new elements. This time we wanted something modern and direct to represent our music and we are totally sure that we got the result we really wanted since the very beginning. This CD will show the real Almah's language and personality! Stay tuned for further news!”

At the moment the band is finishing the recording of the new CD at Norcal Studios (São Paulo, Brazil). Motion is to be released this fall via AFM Records (Europe&North America), Laser Company (Brazil) and Victor JVC (Japan). The album is produced by Edu Falaschi and Felipe Andreoli.

Almah is: Edu Falaschi – vocals, Felipe Andreoli – bass, Marcelo Barbosa – guitars, Paulo Schroeber – guitars, Marcelo Moreira – drums. The band was established by Angra’s singer Edu Falaschi in 2006 and released two albums: “Almah” (2007) and “Fragile Equality” (2008). Almah entered Norcal Studios (São Paulo, Brazil) on May 2nd to record its 3rd studio effort.

Meanwhile, the band has already announced the first dates in 2011: the shows at ForCaos (22/07, Fortaleza) and Armazem do Som (23/07, Juazeiro do Norte) festivals in Brazil.

Edu Falaschi about new Almah's album in the interview to Brazilian Radio

Almah keeps working on the third studio album, the follow-up to the previous success, Fragile Equality (2008). As we have previously informed, the band has been recording at Norcal Studios (São Paulo, Brazil) since May 2th. This Monday, frontman and founder of Almah, Edu Falaschi, revealed a few details about recording of the new album in an interview to Heavy Nation program broadcasted by one of the most important internet radio stations in Brazil, UOL Radio.

“It’s the fastest CD-recording I’ve ever done in my life! – tells Edu. – We began working at the end of April and had everything together within one month! I mean, the pre-production, arrangements, the basic parts/solos creation and the guitars/bass/drums recording... Everything took less than one month! And the last week I started to record the vocals. Four songs are almost ready. Also, we already have the cover artwork almost finished and now we’re developing the complete layout for the future CD”.

To the question about the release date, Edu answered: “We don’t have any exact date as of now. It will be scheduled taking into account the interests of all our label partners: in Brazil (Lazer Company), Japan (JVC) and Europe&North America (AFM). We’re going to mix and master the material in Europe and we plan to have the new CD ready by the end of July. But most likely we will wait with the official release until September. The new album is produced by the band itself, mainly by me and Felipe, but the entire band have worked at the basic parts, arrangements, songwriting”…

The journalist asked to tell more about his work as a vocalist of Almah and to compare it with Angra. Edu explained: “When I joined Angra, it was a band with its own history and a very special style…not every singer could sing there! I had to adapt my way of singing to the band’s style. In the case of Almah, this band was created by me, as 100% Edu Falaschi since the very beginning. The idea of Almah was to create heavier and more modern material. This 3rd album of Almah will define the “personality” of the band and it will present my real features as a vocalist who sings heavier, more agressive etc. The high vocals which I sing in Angra are not my natural type of voice, and with Almah I can rescue my identity. Here I feel more comfortable, I sing naturally, totally in my field.

Right now Angra is going on the road with Aqua Tour until the Rock In Rio festival, then I will be really concentrated on Almah’s new album. I’m looking forward to present this material, which is probably due in September. We will work with total dedication, because the CD is very good! It’s the heaviest stuff I’ve ever recorded in my life, the guitar work kicks ass! The guitar parts have been recorded with 7-strings instruments, half-step down (B flat), and the result is very solid and heavy. The rhythm guitars were played four times for extra punch. The new stuff will show that Almah is not really a melodic metal band… But, mainly, this album will make it clear that Almah stands on its ground on the scene! While the first CD was my solo one, and the 2nd, Fragile Equaity, was the first album with the current line up, then unknown for the public, this time Almah is very well consolidated as a band. It’s got its own place, sound, identity and, also very important, its own true fan army!”

Almah's guitarist Marcelo Barbosa will play three shows with Angra in Brazil (Suzano, Angra dos Reis and Brasília/Porão do Rock Festival) replacing the guitarist Kiko Lourero who will skip these live dates due to family reasons.

Marcelo Barbosa is a generally recognized guitar master and teacher in Brazil. Besides his career as the founder, owner and professor of GTR Guitar Institute, he became famous as a metal musician thanks to his work in such bands as Almah and Khallice. In 2007 Marcelo Barbosa joined Almah, the band established by Angra's singer Edu Falaschi with participation of his bandmate Felipe Andreoli, and became very familiar for Angra's audience. The 2nd Almah's album recorded in the present line-up became one of the best metal releases of the year worldwide. Right now the band is preparing the 3rd studio effort. As we previously reported, at the end of May Barbosa finished the guitar parts for the new long-awaited CD of Almah. Edu Falaschi mentioned in the recent interviews, that it will be the best guitar work he has ever had on his albums.

Thus, no wonder, that one of the leading metal bands in Brazil, Angra, invited him to replace its permanent guitarist to make these shows. Edu Falaschi, Felipe Andreoli and Marcelo Moreira are three of the special guests asked to take part in Arena Brazilian Solaris project from Thiago Bianchi and Tito Falaschi.

This project was originally formed in the middle of year 2000 by the musicians / producers Thiago Bianchi and Tito Falaschi. After a hiatus of almost 11 years, the creators of the project now decided to get back to work and finish the album called "Brazillian Solaris".

The core line-up of the project is Thiago Bianchi (Shaman) on vocals, Tito Falaschi (Symbols) on bass and vocals, and Gabriel Triani (Tempestt) on drums. But one of the goals of the album / project is to celebrate the vast barn of Brazilian music scene and its talented musicians, so the team decided to invite great Brazilian icons to "lend" their talents throughout the 10 tracks laid down for the album.

And here they are :

* Solo Guitarist : Mozart Mello (solo artist), Kiko Loureiro (Angra), Edu Ardanuy (Dr.Sin), Leo Mancini (Shaman), Kadu Averback (Wizards), Andre Hernandes (Andre Matos), Nelson Junior (Royal Music), André Brunetti (Vox) and Chico Dehira (Karma).

* Drummers : Marcell Cardoso (Karma), Marcelo Moreira (Almah) and Ricardo Confessori (Angra / Shaman).

* Bassists : Felipe Andreoli (Angra / Almah /Karma) and Fernando Quesada (Shaman).

* Keyboards and samplers : Gabriel Kaué (solo artist), Fabrizio Di Sarno (Karma / Shaman) and Carlos Ceroni (Kavla).

Percussionists : Guga Machado (Shaman / Angra).

* And last but not least, vocalists : Edu Falaschi (Angra / Almah), Nando Fernandes (ex-Hangar), Christian Passos (Wizards), Thiago Buslik (Voxx One) and Leo Belling (solo artist).

Plus one of MPB's greatest singers, Mrs. Maria Odete (Thiago Bianchi's mother) lending her amazing voice to a surprise track.

The artwork was design by Carlos Fides from Artside Studios.

The band is now releasing the teaser-track "Trust", with the participation of Kiko Loureiro on the solo guitar, Mello Jr on the base guitar, Gabriel Kauê on the keyboard, Tito Falaschi on bass, Guga Machado on percussion, Gabriel Triani on drums and Thiago Bianchi on vocals.

The album is scheduled for release in the second half of 2011. It was entirely produce by Thiago Bianchi in his Fusão Studio.

Almah's guitarist Marcelo Barbosa was chosen by Angra to replace Kiko Loureiro, who will be absent for family reasons, for the next 3 shows scheduled by the band !

"The guitarist Kiko Loureiro, from the bands Angra and Neural Code, will be absent from the next scheduled dates of Angra for family reasons. In his place, was chosen Marcelo Barbosa, a longtime friend and Almah's member, the band headed by Edu Falaschi.

The artist has released an official statement by press, notifiying the reasons for his absence of the Angra's shows in Suzano, Angra Do Reis and Porão do Rock Festival, annually held in Brasília.

"My friends and Angra's fans who will be at Suzano, Porão do Rock and Angra do Reis shows. Unfortunately I wanted to inform you that I will not be present at these shows for family reasons.

So, to not let my band mates and fans disgruntled and without concerts, Angra chose to invite our friend and partner of many years, the guitarist Marcelo Barbosa, to replace me exclusively and solely in those shows mentioned.

I wanted to apologize in advance for my absence, but be sure that the shows will be impeccable, Marcelo will replace me handily, and Angra will fulfill his contract with contractors and public of these events.

Almah has finished the recordings of bass parts for his upcoming album yesterday at Norcal Studios (São Paulo, Brazil) !

Edu Falaschi about Almah via Twitter, yesterday :

"ALMAH: Today we finish the bass! We already have the album almost done! Only the keyboards and vocals are left to do! All the instrumental parts were done within 15 days!"

Almah : headliner at ForCaos Festival

Almah has recently confirmed its first show in 2011, the band will be one of the headliners of the annual ForCaos Festival that will take place on 21-23 of July in Fortaleza (Brazil).

ForCaos Festival is one of the most important underground events to the Northeast of Brazil. The history of ForCaos started in 1999 and this year it will bring together bands and metalheads for the 13th time.

Besides the headlining show on 22th of July (Friday) Almah will play a pocket show (20/07, entrance is free). Also, the frontman of the band Edu Falaschi will present a talk show with the fans (19/07) and a Workshop (21/07).

Almah continue working at the third studio album, the follow-up to the previous success, Fragile Equality (2008). As we reported, the band entered the Norcal Studios in São Paulo, Brazil on May 2th. Check out the latest studio report by Almah’s guitarist Marcelo Barbosa:

“The last few weeks I live between the trips from my home city Brasilia to Sao Paulo and back: at first, it was preproduction of the new material and right now, we’re recording the guitars for the new CD of Almah. The whole atmosphere in the studio is very good and we are convinced that the album will be great. As the songs are taking shape, we start to realize the weight and profundity of them and of their arrangements. All the guitar bases have been already recorded and at the moment we are doing some details and the solos. I have to return to Brasília for the week-end because of some shows and appointments there. But I believe that before the middle of the next week we’ll finish all the guitar and acoustic guitar parts.

Too many things happen at the same time and I must confess that I’m getting a bit crazy because of it. But let come what may!

I’ve made two videos with parts of the new songs. They are short because we can’t reveal all the secrets before their time, but I think it could be enough to stimulate your curiosity. Some elements remind Fragile Equality, after all, the band remains the same with the same guitarists. These elements are a part of our sound’s identity. But I’m sure that for the most part of the album we are daring enough and many things will be different from the stuff presented on the previous CD.

Sorry, I made a mistake recording the second video with my iPhone, I did it in the vertical position that is why the picture is too narrow. Anyway, what is really important, the sound is there. Check out the videos, we will show you more things soon. Stay tuned!”
