Edu Falaschi takes part in ANDA project for animal defence

Edu Falaschi, singer of the bands Angra and Almah has recently participated in the recording of a song that is to be a part of a new animal protection campaign, fighting against social violence and destruction of the environment. The action is inspired by ANDA – The News Agency of Animal Rights – Brazilian organization established by the journalist and animal defence activist, Silvana Andrade.

Edu Falaschi recorded a song together with such renowned national artists as Lucinha Lins, Elba Ramalho, Cláudio Lins, Carlinhos Brown, Patrícia Marx, Tetê Espíndola among others."I'm very happy to take part in such kind of projects. The environmental protection and animal defence awareness sould always be promoted. If everyone does what he can, even any little effort will give the humanity more chances to change the actual situation ", said Edu Falaschi. "Ok, tomorrow I will go to North America again, this time just to rest, to enjoy friends' company and to get to know a city that I have not had an opportunity to see before despite its attraction, Miami.

I have been working a lot at the didactic materials of GTR (Guitar Institute) as well as at the compositions for some projects I take part in. Paulo Schroeber reveals secrets from Fragile Equality in a video

Paulo Schroeber, the guitarist of the band Almah, will launch in the first half of 2011 his first video lesson in DVD. The video is sponsored by compagnies who are supporting the artist, Condor Guitars and Orange.

In this DVD which will last 90 minutes, the artist will reveal some details regarding his involvement on Almah second album - "Fragile Equality" (released in 2008) - and will present all the equipment he uses in the current phase of his career.

Edu Falaschi : interview Rio Metal Blog

Edu Falaschi recently gave an interview (October 2010) for Rio Metal Blog (in Portuguese), where he tells about his entire career as a singer and a producer, about various aspects of his work in Angra and Almah, and pre-Angra career. Edu also speaks about the metal scene in Brazil and other interesting subjects.

Rio Metal Blog : Edu, when and how did you start to get involved in the music ?

Edu Falaschi : Since I was born, because my father was a musician, not a professional one. But by the time I was 17, I got my first experience of playing in a band.


Rio Metal Blog : How did you get to Rock/Heavy Metal and what are your biggest influences?

Edu Falaschi : It happened due to my cousins who were Iron Maiden fans. By the time I was 12, I bought my first metal albums. My main influence as a singer is Dio.


Rio Metal Blog : Edu, as far as I know, your first band was Mitrium in 1990. What do you remember about that time? What are the most significant differences between the underground scene of that period of time and the modern reality?

Edu Falaschi : Everything was too magic, all of us were real dreamers, everything was more difficult without the Internet, but even in those conditions just a year after we started, Mitrium recorded its first LP. The fact is that it was almost impossible for a metal band of that time. Besides having a lot of fun, we also worked hard.

Edu Falaschi tells about Almah on Rio Metal Blog

"Edu Falaschi revealed a few details about the past and the future of his band ALMAH in the recent interview for Rio Metal Blog (Rio de Janeiro / Brazil, October 2010). Edu told about Almah among other matters such as the new Angra’s album, the work in the band over the years and his pre-Angra career, also the singer mentioned some other interesting facts and ideas.

Rio Metal Blog : "When and how did you decide to establish Almah?

Edu Falaschi : In 2006 I launched Almah as a solo album. Then, while being without activities with Angra, I decided to transform Almah into a real band. And it really turned to be a mega band, because our musicians are excellent and super talented, besides being friends and doing everything with a great love and inspiration.


Rio Metal Blog : To record the first Almah album you invited worldwide famous musicians, how did you make it possible?

Edu Falaschi : They are friends of mine.


Rio Metal Blog : How did you get along with them?

Edu Falaschi : Perfectly, they are great guys! It was an honor for me! I liked to visit them in USA and Finland. I adored everything! I made this CD exclusively for myself, without any pretense, it is a pure soul (“alma” means soul in Portuguese).


Rio Metal Blog : Making the 2nd album you already had musicians from Brazil, and it looked like that in the end, the project turned to be a real band. How did you get to this line-up?

Edu Falaschi : At that moment, I had already known all of them quite a long time, only Paulo was pointed out by Moreira.


Rio Metal Blog : How could you sum up “Fragile Equality” tour? I believe it has been very satisfactory, at least I was at the show in Circo Voador here in Rio de Janeiro and I found that the response of the public was really good.

Edu Falaschi : It has been quite cool. Clearly, we would have liked to have an international tour and even more shows in Brazil. But there’s time for everything. Soon we will start working at a new CD, the third album of Almah, and maybe some international tour can happen then.


Rio Metal Blog : If I’m not mistaken, you mentioned at that show in Rio that the song Torn could have been left out of the album, but Felipe Andreoli insisted to include it. Could you explain?

Edu Falaschi : Yes, it’s right, I believed that this song was too much heavy to fit the style of the rest of the album, but I was completely wrong (smile). That is why the best solution for any band is to discuss everything in a democratic way.


Rio Metal Blog : Edu, do you already have in mind a new album for Almah?

Edu Falaschi : Yes, to do it soon!"

Besides his activities as a singer, composer and arranger in his bands Almah and Angra, Edu Falaschi continues his career as a producer. Started in 1998 with Symbols, Edu Falaschi has earned a worldwide recognition as producer with his work on Almah's albums, Almah (2006) and Fragile Equality (2008). He is now working on the production of three Brazilians bands, Artemis, Still Alive and Angels Holocaust. Edu Falaschi will participate in 27th International musical exhibition Expomusic 2010 in São Paulo on September 25-26th, Expo Center Norte. Expomusic is one of the biggest exhibitions of musical instruments and equipment in Latin America and it is one of the most important business events in São Paulo (Brazil). Expomusic 2010 will present 200 exhibitors from Brazil and abroad.

Paulo Schroeber : solo album and video lessons

Paulo Schroeber has recently given some news on his Official Myspace, regarding his video guitar lessons (riffs and solos from the Almah's album "Fragile Equality") and the recordings of his solo album!

Paulo Schroeber : "(...) Moreover, I have finally finished off all my guitar recordings for my solo album, I'll start the pre-mixt next week, and soon, I'll sending it to Felipe to record bass parts.

At best, this week I could show you a preview of my video lessons on my Youtube Channel, we are doing our best to finish it as soon as possible."

Marcelo Barbosa : GTR at Porão do Rock 2010 !

GTR Instituto de Guitarra headed by Marcelo Barbosa will take part in the upcoming Porão do Rock Festival in Brasília in a very special way. The school will give a name to the heavy metal stage of the festival: this year it will be PALCO GTR. The event will take place on 11th of September. Porão do Rock is one of the most important musical festivals of Brazil. This year many important Brazilian bands will play on PALCO GTR such as Korzus, Andre Matos Band and Dynahead. Porão do Rock is an independent musical festival, its history started in 1998. This is not only musical event, Porão do Rock is famous due to its important social activities, it got many national awards over the years.

Edu Falaschi : Anime Brother Club 2010

Edu Falaschi is one of the main attractions of Anime Brother Club 2010 which is held in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) at Estadual Presidente Castelo Branco college, Porto Alegre, Mesquita / RJ.

Anime Brother Club is organized by Yamato River, which has as producer Ranieri Gouvea Trindade, one of the organizers of the biggest Anime event taking place in Rio De Janeiro, Anime Family.

Edu Falaschi plays today for a special show from 6.30 pm (Brazilian time).

Almah European Fan-Club : news of the month

Here are the news of the month on Amah European Fan-club :

** Almah's news : As you know, Almah's activity is reduced due to the participation of his musicians in other projects and bands. But the band didn't forget his fans and is already composing the songs for the next album ! Edu Falaschi and Felipe Andreoli have recently given some news :

- Edu Falaschi about Almah in Universo Do Rock interview :

"Universo do Rock : - You have another band Almah, how are you going to manage both things now, when Angra is back for 100 per cent?

Edu Falaschi : It's clear that now Angra is a priority, but if some opportunity for Almah appears, we will use it. We played in Belo Horizonte and Brasilia this year. When Angra was back, I talked about it with the guys, explaining that we had to take a break and they understood. Moreover, we have already done a lot of things, so it's time to stop for a while and to compose songs for the new album. I'm going to perform with Angra, but I'm already writing new songs for the new Almah.

Universo do Rock : - And how much time will it take to launch the CD?

Edu Falaschi : I don't know yet. We are collecting ideas, we are composing, and then we'll decide when the right moment comes."

- Felipe Andreoli, official statement :

"Hi there, folks! It's been a busy year so far! Now it's time to release 'Aqua' and hit the road again. But that doesn't mean that we'll forget you, Almah fans. We've been working on compositions and ideas all this time, and we're pretty excited about many of them. We were also able to do some shows in Brazil. which was cool not only to be on the road, but also because we really miss each other in this band. Maybe we'll have some other dates coming this second semester, too."

** Guitar lesson of the month : The team of the Fan-Club found that most Almah's fans and Fan-Club members were musicians ! So we opened a few months ago the Scary Zone Blog, which offers guitar and bass lessons. This month, we offer you to work your left hand with new exercises in chromaticisms ! These exercices are proposed for guitarists but are easily transposed on bass!

** New video section : Fan-Club offer you a new section in its video gallery, called "Guitarosofia by Marcelo Barbosa" ! You'll find here the 13 issues from pedagogic videos series of Marcelo Barbosa !

** New pics : Fan-Club offers you 18 new live pics of Almah, taken during their last shows in June in Brazil !

Felipe Andreoli tells about Almah

Dear friends! We have a direct message from Felipe Andreoli to you. The bassist tells about Almah and the current moment of his career in general. Please, check it out and stay tuned! Thanks a lot for all the support!

“Hi there, folks! It's been a busy year so far! Now it's time to release 'Aqua' and hit the road again. But that doesn't mean that we'll forget you, Almah fans. We've been working on compositions and ideas all this time, and we're pretty excited about many of them. We were also able to do some shows in Brazil. which was cool not only to be on the road, but also because we really miss each other in this band. Maybe we'll have some other dates coming this second semester, too.

Apart form that I'm again doing some shows with Kiko Loureiro in his solo project, and I'm always playing with Rafael Bittencourt in his solo project as well. There are also two instrumental projects I'm playing with lately, one with Brazilian guitarist Silas Fernandes and other called 'Tao Caos & Cronus', with drummer Renato Bon. Last but not least, a totally remodeled http://www.felipeandreoli.com will be available in a very near future, courtesy of designer Gustavo Sazes. Cheers!»

Still Alive / Edu Falaschi / Marcelo Moreira : drum sessions part 1

Here is a video of Edu Falaschi and Marcelo Moreira (Almah) talking about the drum sessions of Still Alive debut album. New Still Alive album, produced by Edu Falaschi and featured Marcelo Moreira, is expected to be launched in the second half of this year in Brazil.



Here are Edu Falaschi and Marcelo Moreira comments :

Edu Falaschi : "Hey guys, what'sup ? I'm Edu Falaschi. I'm at Norcal Studios, producing the band Still Alive. We're at the beginning of the production, recording the drums. We have Marcelo Moreira as special guest on the album. We're at the beginning of the production, although we're finishing the drum recording. Moreira is very fast. He recorded yesterday and today he must finish the 9 songs with drums. Next week I will start another production and soon we'll produce the guitars of Still Alive. In this case, the songs were almost ready. They were very well produced. We spend a lot of months working together in the songs. And now It's just record. We have a good team here, with Brendan (Duffey) and Adriana Daga, here at Norcal. They're both producers and great technicians, and I believe this studio is the best to record rock and heavy metal. That's why we're here, the same studio that Angra's new album is being recorded, where Almah's latest album were recorded, Kiko Loureiro's among others. Well, the album is being done with much effort. We hope to finish it before latin America's Expomusic. And I believe that in this event you will have the pleasure to listen this new Brazilian band, called Still Alive. Soon we'll have more news. And that's all."

Marcelo Moreira : "Hey guys. I'm recording Still Alive's album, at Norcal Studio in São Paulo, the same studio that I recorded Almah's album. It's being very nice, because it's a very different sound that what I usually play. There are a lot of heavy metal elements, but, there are some different things, from what I am used to play. So it's being very nice to try out some new stuff. I'm using my cymbals Orion Kit, that is working very well at studio and I believe that the album will have a great sound. The drums are very good and I think that this will be a great heay metal album, with these guys from Rio De Janiero. I hope that they have a brillant future ahead. I will always watching and helping in what I can. And that's all guys !"

Edu Falaschi with the band Kattah in Curitiba

Edu Falaschi (Almah, Angra) is the special guest of the band Kattah, today at Hangar Bar in Curitiba (Brazil) from 6. pm (Brazilian time).

The event will serve as pre-release of Kattah debut album "Eyes Of Sand" and will present, beside the own music of the quintet, a set-list which will include some classicals of Angra with Edu Falaschi.

"MS Metal Press has promoted this meeting, because we are part of its cast. I'm very happy to be back in Curitiba for this night, which will be certainly very special. It will be the first time I'll share the stage with the band Kattah and I'm very happy to share this moment with them. Wait for a great show with great music" said Edu Falaschi.
